That kid again....

I just know that my few readers want to see the newest pictures of Nora!! Yeah?!? =)

She turned 2 months old on Tuesday. Holy cow! How did that happen? AND I have to go back to work on May 3rd - do the math people, that's in 3 days! Boo.

Here are her awesome band-aids.
She is such a ham.

I am really going to miss her when I go back to work. So sad. I will cry a lot.

Watching my little cousin Emma grow

Emma turned two last week. On the 21st to be exact. I can't believe how fast kids grow!

This is from her first birthday party:And here she is at her 2nd birthday party:
Wild.

Another scary thing. Here I am with Prince C at her first birthday party:
This was taken 2 months before we found out I was pregnant.

We wanted to have a baby, and we were ready, but who even imagined that a year later we would have our sweet Nora? It is awesome.

And here she is, our sweet 8 week old baby at her big cousin Emma's birthday party yesterday. I hope they grow to be as close as Emma's Mommy and I am.

Cloth Diapering

I decided that I ought to make a tab for all I have spent on the cloth diapering stuff. Here we go so far (I am rounding my numbers):

Bummi's Flower cover size small : $15
2 white Bummi's Whisper wraps size small: $22 ($11 each)
2 dozen infant sized prefolds: $32 ($16 each dozen)
2 dozen regular sized prefolds (for nighttime absorbancy, burp cloth, changing table cover, and future use): $42 ($21 each dozen)
Wahmies wet bag for the diaper bin: $21
Wet bag for the diaper bag: $15 (not necessary but it was covered in John Lennon by Carter's re-purposed sheets)
3 more covers size small: $55 (but I paid for overnight shipping - an extra $12) so.... $43

Total so far: $200

Perspective: I bought a container of diapers to cover us while her stub was still on and while she was too small for even the small sized diaper covers and it was $42 and they lasted around a month. Well, actually those plus the free ones from the hospital lasted around a month. According to most cloth diapering sites we spend on average $66 a month for disposable diapers. Around $1600 for each child from birth to potty. That's a lot!

CIO Progress

Holy Canoli, what a difference a week can make!

On Morning One (4/10) - Nora slept until 7 am! She fussed on Night One until around midnight and then was out. 7 hours of sweet sleep, check!

On Night Two (4/10), she was the same as night one. We settled her, bathed her, and put her down. We had to go in several times to put her plug back in, it seems like she sleeps with it in and then when she spits it out she gets upset. She fussed until around midnight and slept all night. At 7:45am she woke up screamy and hungry. 7 hours of sweet sleep, check!

Nights three (4/11), four (4/12), five (4/13), and six (4/14) she went to bed easily with minimal fussing and woke up between 4am and 6am. Kick Ass! And once she had a bottle, she went right back to sleep and slept until around 10am. On Tuesday (4/13), she and I had to take Lilly Bea back to the vet. I woke Nora at 7:45a to get her dressed and in the car for the trip and she was awakey-wake until almost noon. That was a long stretch for her.

Last night she went to bed at 10:15p and didn't cry out even once. She woke up at 6:15am and didn't cry. I heard her cooing from our room. I went in to change her nappy and she just smiled and smiled at me! So sweet. I am very pleased with our progress.

I know this won't be perfect forever but so far, it is!

Music Lover

My little girl loves music.

Yesterday she was really worked up about something. I sat her in her buzzy chair and walked away.

*Peace out, kid, you figure this out on your own. You have a clean fluffy butt and a tummy filled with baby yummies, you figure it out.*
I flipped the tv to CMT and sat on the couch. Nora was across the living room right by the tv speaker and she calmed right down. Huh. Lover of CMT. Check.

A little while later I thought I would try out a little on itunes. I flipped on Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear and holy crap, here is what happened:
She loved that too! What a perfect kid. She seems to be into all sorts of music!

Here is the fan video for Two Weeks - I like it better than the band's version.I love her!

Fun with Photobooth

We are nerds.Nora. Double the cuteness.

Prince C. Not so hot. He ain't got no shirt on!
Frootie and Lils. Funny, Lils looks fairly normal.
Raquel. This one makes me giggle as does the next one.
Auntie Sissy. She is the one who started this craze. Now Turkey loves it.
Turkey. She takes about 20 of these every time she is in front of my laptop. This is a pretty one. Clearly she wins.

CIO night One

Well, as I was typing the title my gal started crying again.

She has been fussing for about an
hour now. We have consistently gone in to check on her - so don't judge. She is so so tired, but just fights it. She fights sleep with the best of them. She fights sleep even if you are rocking her or bouncing or cuddling her. Tonight we decided we would start the CIO Method. CIO - Cry it Out, for those of you who don't know.

It breaks my heart. Breaks it into a million pieces. But, seriously, the last 2 nights she hasn't wanted to sleep unless it was on my chest. This is fine - in theory. The biggest problem is that I can't rest. I can sleep. I can doze. But, in no way shape or form do I get any rest.

I am not sure how we will ever fix her if we don't try to fix it now. She is a bossy, screamy baby.

See. I tell you.

She's still screaming. I think I shall change the name of the method to "The Scream it Out Method". That is what it is in our house. She isn't crying, she is screaming. She is screaming, then finally settling, dozing off for 5 minutes or so, and then startling herself back awake. Then, it all starts over again.

I hate this. I know we have to do it. Or maybe I can just cosleep with her until she gets married.
