Weird Folk

So, today I had the strangest experience. I encountered a person who just didn't like me apparently because of the way I look.

I was trying to help him, he was a deaf man - and I know a little ASL from taking 2 years of it in High School....he wouldn't let me help him. Not even a little. He laughed at me and walked away.

Awesome.
Maybe I signed "you're a big retard dummy head" to him and I didn't know. Humph.

5 months old

My little girl turned 5 months old today. Where has the time gone?

Nora,

You have mastered the art of rolling over your right shoulder and you're working on rolling over the left. You recently started to prop yourself up with your hands and not just on your elbows. Crawling...it isn't far away.

You love to swim. This has been the case for a while. You love water. Baths, swimming, the sound of it, the feel of it.

You love to eat avocado and peas. The last 2 days you have had avocado and banana mixed together and you seem to really like that too.

You also have recently decided that you like toys. You have a flower, a book, a bear, teething ring, and a plastic "chain" all that make great noise and must really taste good.

You like to sleep with your knees tucked under you. This is another reason I think you might be close to crawling.

I really love you.

I can't wait to keeping watching you grow and develop into a great little girl!

Grocery

I really need to go to the grocery. I am planning on making a huge batch of baby food for Nora. She has started eating good food and so far things are going well. She loves avocado and also loves peas. Next up: Sweet Potatoes and Butternut Squash!

I read online that adding avocado to everything will help her absorb the other nutrients. I am so glad she loves avo. And Glowy the glow worm.

Planning Ella's 6th birthday

Somehow all of these things have to come into one sixth birthday party for a fabulous girl:

361 days til 30

Today, for the first time in a long time (so it's not brand new) I feel comfortable with my income. My bank looks well stocked and my bills are under control. These are the resolutions I have made to help me save.

- 10% directly into savings from every paycheck and half of my commission checks when they are separate.

- paying bills half from one check to and half from the other.

- I am only going to eat out at work once a week (or maybe not at all)

- no more credit cards

That last one - is one of my main reasons to start saving. All of my credit cards are gone. No more naughty shopping. I now have to save all the money for the things I want. I have to save for vacations. I have to save for fun toys (not that I am allowed to buy them - ever).

Holy Crap. This is going to be a hard thing for me.

Today's "do something new" is a doozy.

Today I went to get my tags transferred to Ky from In. When I walked into the room at the county clerk's office there was a cute baby. His mommy said "oh look there's another baby!" She went on to tell me that her baby boy was 5 and a half weeks old. Aw.

I walked over to the next window and while I was filling out the documents to have my title sent to them I over heard this convo:

Window Lady: Ok, Mr Husband (talking to the man holding the baby)....

Mommy: Oh no, this isn't my husband. This is my step son.

Window Lady: Oh! So this is your grandbaby? How wonderful! Is he your first?

Mommy: Oh no, this is my son. He's my step son and the father of my baby. *laughs*

It was only uncomfortable for everyone else there. This odd-coupling didn't seem upset about the oddity at all.

Today, I did something I haven't done in a long time. I left work sick. I have no idea what was going on with me but I just couldn't make it any longer. 7:30p - I had to ditch. I was having horrible pain in my right side. I thought I was going to pass out on the sales floor.

The good news is that I am feeling better and Nora is currently talking up a storm to the movie on tv. She also ate a whole slice of avocado! She is growing up so fast!
